Scottsdale Community College (SCC), a public two-year accredited community college, is one of ten colleges in the Maricopa County Community College District, one of the nation's largest community college systems. SCC offers quality and affordable education programs designed to help international students earn an associate degree, certificate, or provide a strong foundation for university transfer.

English as a Second Language (ESL)
SCC also offers an English as a Second Language (ESL) program which prepares students for success in regular academic degree programs. There are five levels of classes, from beginning to advanced English. Free tutoring and English Conversation classes are also available. New students take a placement exam upon arrival to SCC to test into the appropriate English level. No TOEFL score is required for admission into the ESL program. Students in the program work on improving the following skills:

*While there are no residence halls on campus, SCC does have information on home stay programs and apartment locator services. The cities of Scottsdale and nearby Tempe (home of Arizona State University) have a variety of clean and safe apartment complexes and townhouses.

International Admission Requirements
- A completed application form signed by the applicant
- TOEFL score of 500 (paper test) or 173 (computer test) for academic admission. No TOEFL required for admission to ESL program
- Official high school documents, transcripts, and completion certificates
