State University of New York at Plattsburgh is a comprehensive institution of higher education offering programs at the Bachelor and Master degree levels. One of sixty-four colleges and universities in the State University of New York system, Plattsburgh is an uncommon university dedicated to educating professionals in over 60 areas of study. State University of New York at Plattsburgh is a four-year, liberal arts university with approximately 6000 students (including over 300 international students) and about 300 faculty members. Most undergraduates at Plattsburgh live on campus in one of 12 residence halls open from August through May. Housing is also available for students attending classes during the summer. Located just minutes from campus, the park and its nearby High Peaks region, including Whiteface Mt., and Mt. Marcy, are favorite destinations of hundreds of Plattsburgh students each year.

With one of the lowest campus crime rates in the nation, State University of New York at Plattsburgh is a place where you can feel safe. A computerized, keyless entry system monitors exterior doors in every residence hall and reports problems to the University Police. Police Officers are accessible from anywhere on campus through blue light emergency phones and phones in the entrance of every building on campus.

Dr. Judson, the president of our university, welcomes students from different cultures. Students who apply early may qualify for up to a $10,000 grant dispersed as up to $2,500 per year for up to 4 years to subsidize your on-campus housing costs. This grant means that recipients need to pay only $415* each semester for housing in multiple occupancy units on campus. Earliest applicants will receive first consideration since the number of grants is limited. Certain conditions and restrictions apply. *Subject to change.

It is recommended that you express mail your application to us at least one month prior to the regular deadlines. An early applicant has a much better chance of receiving a housing grant and obtaining an additional merit scholarship of up to $1,000.
