OTERO JUNIOR COLLEGE
Committed to Excellence
Founded in 1941, Otero Junior College is located on an attractive 40-acre campus on the southern edge of La Junta, Colorado.
Within two years, students at OJC can earn Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, Associate in Nursing, or Associate of General Studies degrees. Agreements with all Colorado public four-year colleges and universities enable a smooth academic transfer for students who wish to apply their credits toward a four-year degree.
Students pursuing qualifications for vocational occupations will find over a dozen one- and two-year certificate programs available. The areas of study include: Accounting Clerk, Administrative Assistant, Agri-Business Management, Auto C.A.D., Automotive Technology, Children's Group Leader, Cisco Certified Networking, Drafting, Law Enforcement, Microcomputer Operations, Nursing Assistant, and Practical Nursing.
Otero Junior College is accredited by both the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the National League of Nursing. It is proud to be an open-door admissions institution, which means that all students—traditional, non-traditional, minority, disabled—have the opportunity to reach their academic and personal goals there. Over 97 percent of Otero Junior College students are either employed upon graduation or go on to continue their education at four-year institutions. OJC students rank at the top academically for all Colorado community college students who transfer to four-year programs.
Supported by state tax dollars, tuition at OJC is affordable. Many students qualify for financial assistance in the form of scholarships, grants, student loans, and on-campus work-study jobs.
OJC is a full-service campus with modern dorms, library, classrooms, and state-of-the-art technology.
