Georgia State University (GSU) is an urban university in downtown Atlanta. It is the largest university in the metropolitan area. GSU has a total enrollment of more than 27,000 students from all 50 states and 117 countries.
Intensive English Program
The Intensive English Program (IEP) offers courses taught by knowledgeable, friendly instructors who use up-to-date teaching methods, materials, and texts. IEP instructors attend national and international conferences, give presentations, publish articles and textbooks, and are committed to multicultural issues and teaching international students. The average class size for IEP courses is fifteen (15) students. Certificates of completion are awarded at the end of each semester in the IEP, along with Academic Excellence Certificates for outstanding students.

Many IEP students finish the IEP and apply to Georgia State University. GSU offers 52 undergraduate and graduate degree programs with more than 200 majors. There are five colleges in the university: Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Health Sciences, and Law-plus the School of Policy Studies.
Admissions Requirements
Applicants to the IEP must have graduated high school and should have a basic knowledge of English. Admission to the IEP is not the same as admission to Georgia State University. However, students who successfully complete Level 5 of the IEP do not need a TOEFL score for admission to undergraduate programs at GSU.
